Origin Housing is celebrating success at the First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards 2021, having been awarded ‘Best Partnership’ for Harrow One, Origin’s joint venture with Hill.
Set in central Harrow, the development offers 54 homes for shared ownership and 119 for outright sale, as well as creating a public plaza with a retail unit, next to Harrow’s shopping area, a brand new church hall and within 10 minutes walking distance from Harrow-on-the-Hill station.
An example of exceptional partnership working, the joint venture has made it possible to deliver more affordable housing, more generous property sizes and a higher specification than initially planned. Despite challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, homes were completed three months ahead of schedule, meaning eager first-time buyers were able to move into their homes quickly. A sought-after scheme, outright sale homes that launched in 2020 are now 95% sold – ahead of targets. Shared ownership homes were 30% sold within weeks of launch, with priority given to Harrow residents.
Simon Scott, Assistant Director, Commercial & Property Marketing, comments: “We are delighted to have won this prestigious award with our partners, Hill. This project demonstrates how genuine partnership working can help us offer an even better product for our buyers.”
